JOB ESTIMATOR GUIDE
Each POWERWALL unit is 48 inches long and 12 inches high.
1. Calculate the total number of block:
multiply the length of the wall by it's height and divide by 4.
Thus a 24' x 10' wall = 240sf 240/4 = 60 blocks
Add all walls for total square footage then divide by four for total blocks.
If you had a total of eight walls:
45' x 8' = 360sf
37' x 8' = 296 "
28' x 8' = 224 "
12' x 8' = 96 "
33' x 8' = 264 "
22' x 8' = 176 "
10' x 8' = 80 "
43' x 8' = 344 "
Total SF = 1840 / 4 = 460 block
2. Determine takeoff for openings for door and windows:
Multiply height and width of rough opening needed for door/window.....total all figures then divide by 2/3........this will allow for a waste factor.
example: 1 Garage dr. @ 20' x 7' = 140sf
1 Front dr. @ 5' (2 dr.) = 36sf
2 Ext drs. @ 3.0' = 46sf
2 Sl. Glass drs. @ 6.0' (2 panel)= 70sf
1 Sl. Glass dr. @ 9.0' (3 panel)= 63sf
5 #25 Windows @ 38" x 65" = 85sf
Total square footage takeoff = 440sf
Total Takeoff = 440/(2/3) = 294sf
294 / 4 = 73 blocks.
Total block = 1840sf - 294sf = 1546sf / 4 = 387
or 460 - 73 = 387
3. Concrete requirements: total sf. - takeoff sf divided by 65
(1840 - 440) / 65 = 21.5 cu. yds.
4. Steel placement: Rebar requirements as per P.E. plans/drawings and local building code requirements.
